Venice Carnival, the world’s largest and the most famous masked ball has existed since the middle ages, but has blossomed in the 18th century.
Today, visitors come en masse in piazza San Marco, where professional tile layers in ornate costumes (and excessive) occupy the top positions and await the photographers from around the world to be immortalized.
Venetians instead arrange private parties and masquerades costume, or gather in small companies and take part to the most beautiful Carnival in the world.
